DM Shopian Examines Fund Requirements for Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation – Kashmir Reader

SHOPIAN: District Magistrate (DM) Shopian Sachin Kumar Vaishya today called a meeting of disaster management officials to review the fund requirements for disaster preparedness and mitigation in the district.
During the meeting, various issues regarding the Emergency Operations Center, establishment of a temporary EOS, resource and condition assessment, as well as identification of vulnerable areas were discussed until by rope.
Speaking on the occasion, the DM asked the officers to make available sufficient essential items for this purpose.
He led the preparation of a comprehensive disaster management plan so that the necessary manpower, machinery and equipment could be organized on time.
Vaishya said that the district disaster management plan is one such tool that facilitates effective measures during natural disasters and enables the administration to facilitate the district masses. He added that he guides in responding to a disaster, if it ever happens in the district.
Additional District Magistrate, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, SDM, Zainapora, Ex. Engineers from PDD, PHE, R&B, Mechanical, Tehsildars, BDO and others concerned attended the meeting.
