Srinagar, 16th June: Disaster preparedness training was conducted by Aamir Ali, DM Director and SEOC Nodal Officer for Block Development Officers and Rural Development Department staff, who were placed on special duty for Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
In addition, the meeting was chaired by the Commissioner/Government Secretary for Rural Development. Dept. Mandeep Kaur and was also attended by Kashmir Rural Development Director Imam Din and Rural Sanitation Director Charandeep Singh.
However, this is the first time that the rural development department has been given the responsibility of providing sanitation along the entire Yatra road, without any waste burial.
Biodegradable waste will be converted into compost and non-biodegradable materials will be compressed into Bails and moved to base camps, where they will be separated and recycled.
During this time, RDD officers and staff have received training so that in the event of an emergency or disaster, their services can also be utilized by the Disaster Management Department.
