Reddick Library hosts its own Winter Olympics – Shaw Local

The following events are scheduled for the week of February 14 at the Reddick Library, 1010 Canal Street, Ottawa. Call 815-434-0509 for more information.

1 to 2 p.m. Monday, February 14: Mystery Monday Book Club, adults. Oyikan Braithwaite’s “My Sister the Serial Killer” will be discussed in this librarian-led book club. Copies of the book can be borrowed from the library. New members are always welcome.

6 p.m. Monday, February 14: Board meeting. The public is invited to attend the monthly board meeting.

10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 15: On your marks, get set, read!, for ages 3 to 6. A story hour to help children develop their literacy skills and get ready for school. Pre-registration is required. Contact the library for more details.

5 to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 15: Reddick Winter Olympics, Kindergarten to Grade 2. The library has created its own Winter Olympics which children can participate in at Reddick Library.

10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 16: Shake, Rattle, Read!, 9-36 months A fun and musical story hour. Pre-registration is required. Contact the library for more details.

6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 16: LEGO Challenge Group, from third to fifth year. Disaster Island: Imagine you’re on an island far, far away, and then disaster strikes. It’s this month’s LEGO library challenge. What are you going to build?

6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 17: Bingo Blitz, from sixth to final. Come to the library for fun and bingo.

2 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 18: Cinema matinee, adults. Adults, come to the library for a free film screening. This month’s movie will be “King Richard” starring Will Smith and rated PG-13. Plot Summary: A glimpse into how tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams came to be who they are after being coached by their father Richard Williams.

1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 19: The Loop group, adults. Knit and crochet in a fun environment with knowledgeable people.
