NV Energy customer safety and the environment are the subject of the upcoming Rotary Club of Carson City meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, August 30 in the Grand Ballroom of the Brewery Arts Center.
Tim Hill, NV Energy’s Senior Emergency Management Specialist, will brief local Rotarians on the company’s disaster protection plan at the meeting. The public is invited to attend.
Hill will present plans to help protect the public from the impacts of natural disasters on electrical infrastructure and highlight ways NV Energy is working to make the system safer and reduce the risk of wildfires.
It will also provide information on how businesses and residential customers can prepare for a power outage, especially during the warm summer and fall months when planned public safety outage management events ( PSOM) may be a possibility for high fire risk areas.
